Impy hogging??

Scars

Retired tattooed lout!
A few months ago i put an angel air on my trusty impulse
And i ve noticed im only getting roiughly about 550 shots out of a 68ci bottle,

I ususally have the output pressure set to 400psi as i run a vert maxxy with it

Any sugestions on how i can sort it out, and could it have anything to do with the dwell possibly??

What internals are inside your Impy m8?

Whats your input? (after your vert maxy?)

Also have you changed any parts on your marker since/just before you got your A.I.R?

Since I've just change to a D.A.R.T Valve and my shots per a fill have increased almost 25% if not more.

But that was because it was the only part not Eclipse/Voodoo spec and was still stock

Ok then.....

With the D.A.R.T valve are you using the White or Black bit? (should be white if your running @ 175.

What hammer do you have since with the Voodoo bolt you will need a (I think) more heavy hammer like the Eclipse SS Hammer otherwise your shots per bottle will go to pot :p

I have the same Valve(with white bit),SS Hammer and Voodoo bolt/pin and I'm getting well over 1000 shots, yet I've not really had a chance to test it from a 4500psi fill since I've only had my D.A.R.T valve since last week :)

adjust the dwell by ear if the firing cycle sounds like a wet fart then the dwell needs to be reduced...you are looking for a niuce crisp sound... its a blancing act between that and the max flo which should be around 175-80 psi...

I'd clean and re-lube your hammer assembly. I'd also keep the Angel Air at least at 400 (should be 200 to 250 higher than where the Maxi is set at) or perhaps slightly more - say 500. Then I'd set the Max Flo to 180 with the dwell all the way down. Turn up the dwell over the chrono until you're shooting the desired velocity.

Also, paint to barrel match can cause efficiency problems. If the fit is too loose, then it will take more dwell to reach the desired velocity. More dwell = less efficiency, all other things being equal.

Using an LPR will also increase your efficiency, allowing you to turn up your Max Flo and reduce your bolt pressure.
