Impulse

Hello, I'm new to the forum and would like to call upon the minds of the Techroom:

I am considering an Impulse of some flavor or another as my next marker. I would like some opinions on the matter and I figured I would post here.

Can anyone tell me the ups and downs of the Impulse, and maybe the ups and downs of its aftermaret variants?

Any help is appreciated...Thanks y'all!

Wow, big topic! First thing is a Vision is well worth the extra cash - in the 3 tourneys (2 very big) & 2 training days I've done since getting mine there's not been the faintest sniff of a break, & this includes when my hopper went down (batteries).
You're going to get an awful lot of different views on which is the best aftermarket variety, my personal favorite is the Voodoo from Smart Parts themselves though due to budgetary limitations I got a standard vision & had the upgrades added that I felt I needed.
This is what I got done to my standard vision to make it into a seriously rocking tourney marker:
Delrin bolt with Brass Hammer
I-Frame
Tapeworm
Freak barrel
New Cricket board
This setup runs like a dream, though I think I'm going to have to get a Halo soon as I outshot my revvy last weekend a couple of times!

Just to help out, I'm in the same boat, but I can only afford a second hand stock type. I emailed planet and got a reply from Jack in regards to what upgrades I should think about and in what order.

He said I should look into a Solenoid Optimiser first then a stainless hammer and delrin bolt. (You have to have a
stainless or brass hammer with a Delrin bolt), and then a new valve.

stainless/brass hammer

can i just say!!!
jack is the most kicking marker tech this country has ever seen but, chaning the hammer isnt always a must when running a delrin bolt. jack has said in the passed that not all impluses require a firing wieght change.

ive been running a impulse since early last year and in this time i have made some major changes to the stock marker i bought.
a delrin bolt was the first mod i made.this was in the days before jack had realesed the stainless hammer, and i have never had a problem with it. very consistant even when i ran it on co2. im sure jack him self will tell you to try a delrin first and if you have a problem then look at the firing wieght. i can fully recommend any of the eclipse upgrades there all first class.

the ageressor seleniod optimiser cleans everything up and allows you to dry fire with that coughing and fart you get without one.

the aggressor valve kit drops the opperating pressure well down
i still easily get 295fps consistantly with the pressure down to around 140 psi

change them really crappy ball detents to the eclipse its a must just be carefull with the lengths.

get a blade trigger you just have to...

IMMMMPPPYYY'SSS ROCK!!!

I just had silly stuff like the macroline coming partially adrift about 3 times, & it did have a strange habit the first couple of times I used it of dropping velocity about 100-120fps for no apparent reason. BUT - rocks now, & I've been told the more paint & air I put through it, the happier it (and therefore me as well) will be.
