Impulse vision problem

right, i have a problem, that i cannot solve...

my impulse vision seems to not work; it never recognises a ball in the chamber and thats of any colour (dark, light, shiney, whatever); i know that because the light flashes once per second, and when i pull the trigger it makes a funny quiet little bleep... im just wondering is the eye itself broken or will it just be a connection problem.. or something else? i read somewhere about the eye not working if the dwell is too low, but i dunno if thats true

not really wanting to fork out another 35 quid to SP (since the postage is a tenner flat rate), just to get a new eye and cable, when if its a connection problem i can just fix it myself

any help would be appreciated,

Obvious things first (although i'm sure you've checked this already)


-Good Battery
-All connections properly connected
-No paint/crap e.t.c on the eye (best to take it out and clean it with cotton buds and alcohol)
-Eye ribbon not damaged
-Dependant on what board you have you can change the eye sensitivity, this is a very probable cause.

hey, cheers for that, yeah i checked the first 4, but its got a blue light cricket board so i cant adjust the eye sensitivity, cheers for the help anyway, might double check the ribbon again

Vision eyes arnt particularly robust - also the magnesium in paint damages them if left uncleaned - do you know anybody with a vision impy? - try swapping theeyes over and see if that works?

or try picking up a new/second hand workingeye off the forum. Im sure someone round here must have one laying around in there tool box somwhere.

ITS THE EYE RIBBON

trust

take the right hand detent out rub the orange ribbon with a qtip place the eye back in and tighten the detent TIGHTLY

also put the imp in eye off mode and listen to see if the noid clicks if it does thats fine and the only problem you have it with a dirty eye

also clean EVERYTHING just incase

hey, yeh it works fine out of vision mode, pretty much y i came down to the conclusion that it was the eye, that sounds like a good idea so ill give that a try
