Impulse Turbo illegal????

I've just read on the UKPSF site that the NPPL have made turbo boards illegal. Now I've just bought an Impy fitted with a turbo board (which I'm able to turn off) but how does TURBO stand in the UK in events like the Midand Masters and Series 2002/3. Am I allowed to use turbo as long as my trigger doesn't bounce or will I have to turn turbo off completly?

Turbos MUST be turned off for all tournament play in the UK. It's a grey area legally, so it was agreed that the various series organisers would ban them to be on the safe side. I think you'll find that just about all sites will insist on no turbo for walk-ons as well.
Bully reminds us at the captain's meeting at every 2002 event that they must be turned OFF.

Yep Turbo's are banned

Turbo boards in the UK got banned about 12 months ago when insurance companies started to get all nervy about more pellets than trigger pulls coming out of the end of markers. I beleive that the ukspf stated that to recieve there backing all turbos are banned as well.

Sorry but no turbo mode for you!

yep no turbo boards and no chance in the M masters....one of r guys got caught with his board on it just kicked in ...honest .....followed by marshal "oi player get off my field" followed by crowed "booo boooo turbo board get him off" followed by walk of shame....any way stuff the board sell the lot and get a uncle bob long...that will put enough paint down for you legal

You will find over time you can shoot faster with out the turbo on.

I have a Shocker with a TB and when it was made a BIG NO NO, I found after time I was faster.

I know it don’t help but life’s a bitch like that.

Agreed, well kinda......I certainly hated the Turbo mode on my LCD. In fact it was lame, I could rip strings better on semi-only and I'll always shoot better strings than a Shocker easily ( ok I'm busting ass). Heh...


With the current enhanced triggers at the semi only config, why do we need more?

Ok, the age old question comes into play, but as civilized people do we really need Nukes when conventional weapons will do the job?

It's a game, even at the highest level it comes down to angles and precision.....+ massive amounts of paint...but I digress, if you could use paint grenades thrown from the back line...would you?

ISTR the rules used to state that turbos had to be limited to (I think) around 13 bps. Seeing as most new semis with decent frames & boards can shoot around 20 bps, you're only limited by how fast you can shoot. I've seen people shoot Matrixes at 14-15 bps & I'm sure Phil can shoot his Impy at least that fast probably faster so you're better off without the turbo if anything.
