ok just got my new on vision just want to check a few things out
for maintenance purposes do i need to remove the valve seat locator and grease it or just the delrin valve and o rings.The valve seat does not appear to move
also the manual says grease the piston do i need to remove this from the hammer assembly or just grease the part of the piston i can see
just one more thing is the hammer head item 416 in the manual(as in do not grease)

The valve seat shouldn't need to come out, just clean and grease the valve o-rings.

For the piston, the best you can do is extend the piston and grease the shaft and work it backwards and forwards a couple of times. Removing it completely would require you to detach the hammer, which is quite a mission, depending on what type of loctite it's held on with!

The hammer is the large bit on the end of the shaft (the stock one is black-anodized aluminium). This should not touch the sides of the chamber so grease is unnecessary, and the face of the hammer should be kept clean of grease to prevent it sticking to the valve, which can cause FSDO (first shot drop off.)

drop off occurs when you havent fired in a while, not like a minute or so, i'm talkin the interval between games, thats why players shot the ground when they're waitin for the 'game on' to clear the possibility of one. it happened to me alot at trainin on saturday, damn my insulence!!!

i seem to remember reading an artical written by jack wood someplace (poss impulse owners online) about this and it a fault that can be fixed, drop planet a line....impys shouldnt suffer from first shot drop off unless there is a fault

There are any number of things that cause FSDO; Jack Wood's solution is to strip and thoroughly clean the solenoid (I wouldn't recommend touching the solenoid unless you're technically inclined, though) but other people find it's a sticky ramshaft. Some people say a tapeworm fixes it, some say one makes it worse; the same goes for LPRs. Sometimes it's as simple as a flat battery. Sometimes it's a side effect of a leak.

If your impulse is clean, correctly greased and well-looked after, with a fresh battery and a clean air supply, you shouldn't suffer from FSDO.
