I have a smartparts impulse running on Co2.

can someone tell me if it is worth upgrading to air (is there much of a difference)

what is the best type to get 3000 or 45000

what sort of ballage would I expect to get out of a 68ci bottle

Please help me.

I have until monday until I get paid and I need help making decisions on what to get.

should I forget about air and just buy a freak system and as many toys as I can fit in my pram.:)

Usually it is worth upgrading to air - even on an impulse.

You probably notice that your bottle becomes really cold when you fire fast for long periods? Well air gets rid of that and your FPS will be even more consistant. You may not need it if your happy enough with Co2 (which is apparently very good on impulses) and it doesnt cause you any problems.

The size of the bottle you get and the PSI it is depends on what you want or have open to you. Some places cant fill all the way up to 4500psi, so it wouldnt be worth you getting a 4500psi bottle + reg.

I think in the impulse manual it tells you how much you can expect to get off each size of bottle (around 800 for a 1.1lt/68ci 3000psi bottle). If your a back player you may want to go for a size higher so you can get more shots off.

Just remember the air going into your max-flow must be pre-regulated down to around 800psi.

If you are happy with your Co2 then usually the freak is the next step to upgrading.

I was mucking about with my Imp and tried fanning the trigger for a few secs. All of a sudden I hear this hiss as though something had cracked.I look at the reg and it had frosted over and the bottle was ice cold..I also notice the psi had gone from about 175-180 to about 210.Is this normal? It shot fine after that but was just wondering.

yup pretty normal with Co2 - all you've done is used up all the Co2 gas and your marker has started to feed off the liquid Co2, which expands later on giving you the higher pressure and the fact that its liquid makes everything frosty.

I'd be careful cos i think summin nasty happens inside impulses when pressure is greater than 200psi, does summin to the solenoid valve i think.

Yep, It wrecks the solinoid.

Air is OK on an Impy and you cant really go wrong but CO2 is fine as well, if you are sensible (not fanning the trigger)

I have no probs on CO2 and have done other improvements instead but my next marker will be on Air.

Other toys to consider, Vodoo bolt, halo hopper, and i am sure the list will grow.

all depends on how the marker is running at the moment

are you happy with the performance with it
consisentcy etc number of shots
and has it ever caused you any problems

if the marker is running really well on c02 why bother changing it to air

air does have many advantages such as its cleaner and more consistent

but if you markers running great now why bother spenind another 200-400 pounds on an air system that will not improve you marker

Oh man..You've got me paranoid now.
My Impy shot fine after the hissy fit it threw.I put a further 150-200 rounds through it and now I'm out of co2 now so I cant test it anymore and I got a game on saturday.
Do you think there's a chance I might have damaged it?
Cheers.

I do believe that the solonoids SP use vent as much gas as possible if the pressure is to high, you should hear a pop then gas coming from the solonoid tray.
