okay, so my mates decided to have alittle tinker once again and has landed himself in a spot of bother.

The bolt on the impulse just doesnt seem to want to re cock to its back position. i have checked all the usuals, bolt isnt catching on anything, everything is lubed up, no crappy o-rings, pin is inserted all the way into its correct position.

from what i understand of impulses the bolt needs the artificial back pressure created when a ball is fired from the breech to recock the bolt??? is this correct as it seems to work.

Anyhow we are both just curious as it never required a ball to be in the breech or any type of back pressure before for the bolt to recock.

Any ideas or is it just me???(and my tinkering friend!!!)

It's just you.

Once again, your description of the problem and your fault finding attempts aren't very revealing.

Is the bolt pin slotting into the hammer properly?

So what your saying is that the impulse wont cock when there is no ball in the breech, or it wont cock when there is. As far as i know with impulses they wont dry fire correctly unless you either have a ball in the breech, or have something over the end of the breech as a subsitute, apoligies if i have misread the post however.
P.s Has the dwell settings been changed, as may have an effect
hope that helps

mattie you are correect. there must be a substitute for a ball.

the bolt will not recock when there is no ball in the breech.
yes pin is slotted all the way in- that was the first thing i checked.

everythings fine now- turns out the problem was with the hammer not returning to its original position.
