ok gents got my mates impy looks nice and feels great and re-lubed and cleaned it all, what should the gauge be set to? no idea with impys in that respect

Between 150 and 200 psi.
If you bottom out the dwell, set it to about 170psi and then raise the dwell up till you are hitting 280fps, that'll get you set up good.

ok on the pot what way is decreasing the dwell? and do all impulses like shoot and make a dumping sound?
If you have the gun laying on its side, barrel pointing to your right, back of the gun pointing towards your left, then the left hand one is dwell down, the right hand one is dwell up.
Its been about a year since I've fired my Impy cause its not currently in working order, so I can't remember the sound of it.
