Impulse Grip mount Question

ciaran.mooney

Ich bin ein Berliner!
I am trying to remove my current fore-grip mount on my impulse. But the pissing screws wont budge, im not sure if there loctited but im pretty sure. Ive tried heating it and nail polish remover, neither have worked. All I have left is brute force, which isnt preferable, anyone got any suggestions? Other that attaching a small amout of TNT I am stumped!

If it has screwlock on it

Remove all your electrics etc, and immerse the body into some hot water. Most non permanent threadlocks (Loctite 22x etc) are designed to drop in performance when 100degrees is reached. That should soften it enough to allow removal. Note that you should allow the body to cool naturally after you have heated and removed the screws.

Best to get a second opinion from Smart Parts themselves, as - although I do not foresee any issues - they may have a better way.

What you need is...........

an allen key, a sledge hammer, a small child to hold the allen key. Brute force and shear ignorance. then it will go.
Failing that leave the handle on.

All tried, we've had some kind of drill with an allen key on the end try and get the little barstos out. NUFFIN WORKS!!

Just about to try Silent Bobs idea. Check back for the latests news on the un-removable plug!

Update : The boiling water idea didnt work either, my dads got this hot torch thing that might work. Its either that or we start bringing out various power tools MWHAHAHA!
