OK I have been having a few probs with my impy.

At one point I had a sweet trigger pull and a very quick ROF.

At the last M25 I played after a few strings of paint it would vent gas and I would have to wait and start again.

After reading the manual (tricky little blighters) I figure that my Input pressure is wrong for my dwell or visa versa,

Any one got any tips to get my impy running real sweet again.

What is a good input pressure (how do I change it? Is that the bit I would adjust for say going from 300fps down to 280fps?)

Where is a good setting for dwell on an impy?

I will be playing at the next M25 leg if you got a good answer for me.

Cheers

Tom Tom

What type of board do you have since the way you set the board is different from each type (I have green light vision board).

You want your dwell as short as poss (far right) and the input pressure to be between 170-180 from your reg.

From there you just change your input presure by a few psi and this well change your fps slowly, I never touch my dwell just my input presure from my maxy :)

Hope that helps abit....

Hmm.... looks like the board similar to the 2k1 of not the 2k1 itself.

Under the rubber flap on the side of the tray is the dwell adjustment. Dwell should be opposite to pressure, i.e. if your in the 180-190psi on the maxxy, lower the dwell and vice versa.

Get a tapeworm too as it seems you get bolt stick although this problem only occurs when dry firing. Could be the dwell set wrong and the sol being out of time with the speed and input pressures of the gun.

Give us a little more info like the input pressure you set it to on the maxxy etc.

Remember, dwell is how long your valve stays open (well, how long the sol keeps it open with the hammer), so shorten it at high bursts of input, but back players would want lower pressure and longer dwell. :)

Mate, best bet is to ring Paul Parkes tommorow, on 01902 455 455 (Warped Sports).

He is a really good impy tech and i have these same upgrades when i had my 2k2 Impulse re-done by him. He knows his stuff and it ripped ever since with me getting atleast a case out of 1 20oz Co2 tank. :)

That's certainly not what you would expect to happen when upgrading your bolt and hammer. You might try cleaning your max flo and also your solenoid, just make sure you go light on the Dow 33 when you re-lube the parts that require lubrication. In my case I know that a dirty Maxi (I'm lazy) caused my pressure to fluctutate quite a bit.

As far as efficiency is concerned, higher input pressure and lower dwell will increase efficiency, all other things being equal.
