Depends on the exact vintage of the body. The non-vision bodies released shortly before the first vision impulses can be milled to take vision, but I don't know who the best people to do it are. The OLD bodies (certainly anything before about #2500, maybe later) have the ball detent in a different position, so there is no space on the right hand side of the body for an eye; thus, they can not be fitted with a standard vision eye.

I don't know exactly when the changeover happened, it may be when they changed from laser-engraving to jewel stickers, it may have been before that point.

In that case you're pretty much out of luck there, unless you can find someone to cook up something ghetto for you :) I'm in the same boat, with #2258.

It's the main reason I'm waiting to see what the eye system for the WAS board is like, in case it can be fitted on the left hand side of the body instead, where there isn't a ball detent in the way.

by the looks of it, the WAS board should be OK, 'cos the eye is just attached to a wire, not a ribbon!

It still has to be mounted and held in place somehow - it will use the existing holes on a vision-compatible body, but the cover will be different. The SP eye cover rather depends on the ball detent to hold it in place; if the WAS eye cover does not, and is also symmetrical, then it could in theory be fitted on either side, assuming the right holes were drilled and tapped.

If it looks like it might work when it's released, I'm going to try it on mine first, then if that is successful I might start a fitting service, since there seem to be quite a few people in this country with the old-style bodies :D

its more than likely that the was eye uses the standard vision holes, they would sell more boards if it did....makes marketing sence.

as for drilling impys ive heard that the us is the only place you can get it done and that it costs a fortune concidereing its only a hole!
