hi, im buying an impulse with a broken solenoid from a guy i know, for £100, and wondered why the solenoid would have gone? just wear and tear or something else? because if i buy a new solenoid for 70 odd quid i dont want it to break! also where do i locate the PRV? as this may be it.
P.S i will be running it on co2.(i think it runs on co2 or air)

the only thing on the impy i could see it being is the max-flow, if its faulty and out-putting too high a pressure that could blow the solenoid. Other than that solenoids do just go and need replacing.
This is all i can think of but i'm probably missing loads of stuff but there you go!!

if the co2/air goes over 200psi this will blow the solenoid. this is the main reason that they blow. the only other time ive known one to go was shavings from the hammer worked there way into the solenoid but i think this is fairly rare.

your mate dont seem to know that much about the gun. does he know what psi he was firing it at? does he know for certain the solenoid has actually blown? has he tried changing the battery?

Firstly new solonoids are only £40 from smartparts europe I have gone through two solonoids and even a new one they sent didnt even work so you can get faulty ones, it may even just need a good clean and re-greasing.

The prv should operate at around 220 psi to prevent the solonoid from being damaged for loads of info go to Impulse owners group

PS what spec is the impy, How old is it??

"your mate dont seem to know that much about the gun"

you see i'm buying it off a fellow marshall, who's selling it for his mate who doesnt work there. And he doesnt like electronic guns, so knows pretty much nout about em'.
Is the prv in the max flow? how do i check it?
is £100 a good deal (with a few barrels too)
Also smart parts quoted me 59.99 for a new solenoid + vat etc.

the prv is the brass nipple that should be on the maxxy somewhere (youll know when you see it)

Chect to see if there is a small cover under the feed tube on the right hand side of the marker, if there is then it is vision compatible if there is £100 is a great deal, if there isnt then £100 is still a good deal but it will be an older one and im not sure how upgradable it will be,

Personally if its not vision compatible then i wouldnt bother.

try planet eclipse then i may have got it from the but i definatly didnt pay more then £50 for both of mine including VAT
