Importing from the US...

Anyone here done this? Im looking at maybe importing a Sypder Xtra ($135)! Any1 know how much shipping would be? Also would custom and Excise charge me for importing it (like they did for my guitar.. bas**rds...) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds a great deal based on those prices doesn't it?

I import regularly and postage is expensive and they will sting you for import duty and charges every time unless you get a friendly merchant to package everything up and mark it as a gift or get it delivered to a friend in a US base in the UK - no duty then.

A marker (insured) is likely to cost you between $20 and $75 depending on insurance and how quickly you want it.

Customs charges are around 30% (with admin fees).

If you do buy from the States make sure you buy from a reputable dealer, I have just been ripped off buying second hand.

VAT is 17.5% and Import Duty 3.2%, payable on new and second hand goods.

The postage will be between £25-£50 and the shipping company will charge you approx £10.00 handling fee.

All in all not worth the hassle! unless you are buying a top of the range marker.

Go to a good local paintball shop and see what they have. I know you can pick up a good starter marker for around £100.00 at Phoenix Paintball.

prices are good because the pound (£) is strong against the canadian dollar.

They also use UPS for shipping which don't have as harsh shipping rates.

Note: you will still stand the chance of getting stung with import tax.

UPS sucks, they charged me £30 impot fee's on $140 (so the invoice said ) then another £10 for holding it overnight until i paid

Can beat that International Express charged £50 to ship 5 masks worth £150 then got stung for another £50 when they decided to declaire everything totaling to £100 to get £150 worth of goods - now that pi$$ed me off
