ok if i import parts from the us what rate of tax am i expected to pay, is it just the vat at 17.5% or is there something else as well?

combined they make x

now x is added 20% (or the amount of tax)


and amount is taxed yet another 3,7% or so!

kinda, but the 20% you refer to is i think actually 17.5% vat

anyone else got an idea?
am i looking at about 20% total tax or is it gonna get stoopid, failing that anyone in the us comeing over here in about 3 weeks?

failing that, just get the company to write repair on the box

The cost to ship it is no more than anywhere else.

thats a quote of the guy who makes them so i would interpet (sp?) it that shipping is included in the price so in that case your tax would be about 60$/£ +/- 10-20$/£ depending on what the customs want for the handling etc...


i can tell you that the customs here are complete arses when speaking of taxing so keep you r fingers crossed...

oh yea make sure that if he sends it as (repair/warranty) that he is prepared to answer the phone or email from the cumstoms asking if it is true and in the worst case you must have a receipt for the original purchase...but these are all worst case scenarios!
