I have a few questions......

Hello everyone out there in internet p8ntball land,
I am a total newbie from Pennsylvania, and I play out back off my house, in the extra 2 acres of land we have. I never have money, and when I do it is normally a small amount. This being the case, I found a point zero model 83 (the little black plastic marker) on the internet(eBay) for $20. To me this seemed like a wonderful deal so I bought one(he was selling 10 of them). I was wondering what I should do, save and buy a spyder, or, save and upgrade what I have, but , remember, I only play with a group of friends, not on a team or anything. To throw another wrench into the whole situation, my family and I are probably moving to Florida. So, in conclussion, are Point Zeros ok? and also, does anyone have a Spyder Compact (or similar) for sale, CHEAP b/c I have absolutely no cash to speak of(about $15).

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Jake:D ;) :p  :( :)

At the level you're playing i'd say a point zero will work fine . I'm pretty sure they arnt very upgradeable so i suggest you just stick with your pointzero for a while till you get more into the sport or have more money . the field i play at has point zero's as rental guns and for the price there pretty good . it wont compete with an auococker but should do you just fine . on the plus side there nice and simple and seem to be really reliable .

yup......

I agree with you, so far after about 4 months of having it I have not had to do one thing to it(besides oil/clean it after every use) so yea i would say it is pretty reliable. Me and a friend were having a shootout and he was shooting marbelizer on a spyder and i was shoooting viewloader and I broke less than he did with my point zero. The other thing i like about a point zero is that I can get them for $20 a piece, so I am not afraid to to a few homemade modifications(added homemade stock, ported barrel, painted barrel etc.).
