Hi Guys

can anyone in the know help?

I just went to the shop to get something to eat, on the way there i drove into a issue!

the road has alot of parked cars on the one side, i drive through as its myright of way and usually everyone pulls into the open spots to let the right of way through.

got to the usual spot and another 2 cars came through even though i was half way so i stopped and let them pull in however the last car didnt fit and when i drove off as we where next to each other i managed to scrape the car. it wasnt bad, has just cause 2 slight scraps on the bumpers of both cars resulting in the paint coming off but not the undercoat.

i stopped and so did the other driver who was shaking after the ordeal or so she said.

anyway she said it was my fault and took my details, as we both didnt want to put this through the insurance companies i gave her my number as she said she was going to get a quote for how much to get the bumper resprayed.

now i wasnt going to do anything to my car as its just unlucky but she is insisting i pay for repairs to her car?

now any idea how much im looking at or should i get the insurance companies involved for 2 minor scrapes? and when i mean minor it is tiny.

cheers

how big is the scratch? your looking at about £200 for a full panel respray. Not really worth putting through your insurance.

EDIt: this should be in SYB

Tell her to get bent. If she claims for anything, claim for whiplash, loss of earnings, the whole shebang. She's on the make.

Get to where the accident took place, take some pictures, make a diagram of what happened, write down while It's still fresh in your mind, you do have all her details i hope...Then report it to the insurance Tomorrow as if you don't & the other party does you will be liable for all claims, & going by what you said in your post, she might go for personal injury aswell..

Cliff...:)

i had bang one week into driving my first car, i braked and woman ran into back of me,
when i pulled up she started yelling at me for stopping before entering an area i couldent enter (you know, a no stop zone the criss cross yellow lines) cos car was blocking exit,

she soon stopped when i remined her of the hiway code and said i saw her on her phone!!

luckyly there was no damage in my case, if she does get into contact then just reminder of what SHE did wrong.

Tell her to get bent (politely),if it was your right of way she's taking the piss .Tell her you have discussed the situation with learned parties  and if she wants to take it further you will leave it up to the insurance companies to sort out.

Thats what I'd do.

Now....If I'd have been there at the time I would of grabbed her by the hair and smashed her head in with the door ala Vinny Jones in Lock Stock.
