United States......BITCHES!
Man, im friggin floored by this one. Up here in Norwalk, CT (USA) a poular newspaper "Connecticut Post" Posted an article about how 2 kids killed themselves by 1: Working on a Gun with an HPA tank screwed in, and 2: messing with threads on his Nitro tank and facing the bottle towards his head, and when it flew back, it cracked him in the face. Let alone I feel sorry for these guys, instead of the article enforcing safety, the paper enfores the negative with the headline "PAINTBALL DEATHS LEAD MORE CONCERN TO MORE DANDEROUS SPORT" Man, this is what give P8ntballin a bad rep. Why are people so stupid, I mean we all make mistakes (myself as much as anyone) but what the hell? Instead of attempting to make p8ntball as "infamously danderous" to all, how about showing how its fun, and the best sport on earth, if you don't act like an imbecile? I mean, p8ntball is one of the least danderous sports when you wear a mask, and kepp simple stupid rules in check. Dont be an idiot, and keep the sport from getting screwed over by idiots who feel its a danger to society (as quoted by this newspaper) Let me know what you think.

that's exactly the problem we have......... paintball is actually one of the most dangerous non contact sports around......... two full teams of players firing high velocity projectiles around and all carrying potentially lethal compressed gas bombs, plus the dangers of faulty kit................ why is that one of the safest sports? It aint, it's got more to be worried about than most.
It's not intrinsically safe... , we've just been careful/lucky so far............ we all need to have more respect for our safety and the safety of those around us....... I'm starting to spot stupidity at nearly every tournament I go to........ and now we've got a couple of "accidental deaths for the sport" maybe we should do more to promote safety and stop complaining about the press....... yes they look for the headline, but I find it hard to see how you can blow deaths out of proportion.
It's like the Catholic church........... if they's worried more about stopping priests from abusing little boys and less about stopping the press finding out, the world would be a brighter place.
Biggest problem? anyone can buy, fill and mess with a massively powerful compressed gas tank, regardless of ability, knowledge or common sense.

The news should say something about safety when they do these stories this way they don't happen as often. Like when they do reports about eye injuries in paintball, they could say something like wear googles, but most of them don't.

UNfortunately, i dont work for a newspaper, and I cannot promote safety much other than word of mouth. I thionk we all gotta think about this one, and Jose, ur right, we should do a bit more that complain, if only people would listen more :( Anyway, its all a part of life, and death is no light thing, lets just try to make its safer. It sad for kids with soccer moms who freak out and dont let their kids p8ntball because of articles, people need to be les ignorant, and more aware of their surroundings. Trennewanz: I really wish papers had more about safety:( You're totally right, im playing today, and atleast i know the people around me wont be stupid about it. :) Its almost a good thing to know. Anyway, c ya lata.
