I'll refer you to a similar thread made by some guys from "team legacy" a couple weeks ago: http://www.p8ntballer-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=62755 . I was in contact with them and threw up a couple quick sample sites in Frontpage for them based on their original page using some of the design principles I thought they should use, you can see them here:
http://teamlegacy.50webs.com
http://teamlegacy2.50webs.com
You can compare those to the site they had in the original thread. They also designed a new site that I hosted for them here:

I'm not really sure what they ended up doing with any of those sites, think they kinda lost interest. But comparing all of them, you can "see" what I was saying in the thread. I'd recommend something similar for you. Pictures make bad website backgrounds, funky fonts are hard to read, visible hit counters are annoying, and a website really should have a central, unifying theme. And I had my speakers off.
Here's the bottomline: those piczo, freewebs, geocities, etc sites really blow. The obnoxious banners and ads make it painful to view what's hosted there. I'm not saying you should get a degree in web design, but you'd be much better off making a site in Frontpage or the free alternative Nvu, and hosting it with a free or cheap hosting service (like 50webs). Both those programs are extremely easy to use, like a word processor, what you see is what you get. So give that a try and put a stop to this piczo tomfoolery.
