Hyperball?

Is anyone in the UK (in the south) planinng to build a hyperball field? I have seen them played on films and have heard from people who have played them in the states, but I would love to play one. If there are any in the UK then could people please leave any information about the site they are at and if they are holding any tournements down there. Also is hyperbal just an american thing?

Nottingham Skirmish have a great one, it's one of the best fields I've ever played. Big, open, and opertunity for some great long breaks.

Sparklie is planning to build one at Maidenhead. Hopefully, the ones down south may be in use for the M25 series next year, untill then I think only Nottingham use theirs in tourneys.

And they definitely aren't just an American thing. The first ever Hyperball field in the world was at NTF near Birmingham.

On that note, what's the whole story behind hyperball fields anyway? Who came up with it, and why? They look the business too!

NTF was the first as Liz said, why they did it ....cos it was different and it could be watched and filmed looks to be the most likely answer, the following year a demonstration Hyperball field was used at the World Cup, then it got used all over but the english came up with it first.

Aparently some guy patented the name and the idea, and he has to be payed a royalty for each hyperball field built (maybe just a rumour but I heard it from somewhere).

I ain't gonna buy you one! Ask daddy though, he's the one that handles the money...

One thing I don't like about hyperball fields is that they get REAL dirty real quick. I hate being covered in paint...You've all seen the pics in Facefull. Yuk!
