hp pmi reg question

ok gents inside the reg where the threads are to screw it into the bottle is a little gold thing(use that term as name unkown) and i filled it yesterday and it popped out and was ratling in my bottle, took it off put it back in and it happened again today, only does it wen it fills fast, answer could be dont fill it fast but when its in the hands of someone else, ya know. so how can i keep it where it is or can i take it out and it will be ok dont seem to serve much of a purpose as it is? correct me if im wrong and all help is good.

I think it's a flow restrictor, so if the reg decides to fail catastrophically the tank won't turn into a jet-propelled ballistic projectile. Best to put it back in, and use a dab of low-strength loctite to stop it coming out again.

its still in it, iv put it back in, and it wont heat up and blow up like the lube incident is it?

Loctite should be safe with air systems, but don't drown it, it only needs a drop to hold the part in place, and give it half an hour or so to set before putting the reg back on the bottle and filling it. But as always, if in doubt take it to someone who knows

Mark dont forget to clean it all with petrol, and oil anything you touch. Put a few saw cuts in the neck of the bottle and flash fill it.
