How to get experience?

Hiya, just looking for some advice really on how to get out of this viscous circle I've seemed to have gotten in?

I when I started out I was more or less playing/training every [other] weekend in Dublin but then now made a permanent move to Glasgow, Scotland there ain't much here either. Found 2 teams in Edinburgh and have been in contact one I have played with - seem a good group and the other wanted me to have everything but seem to train more often. They were the only 2 teams which I got an answer from the sites I could find within a 2 hour driving radius. Is there anything on the border?

Back to my original question - experience? What else can I do? A few people I've spoken have said there isn't much happening - am I just looking in the wrong places or have to travel further? Are there tournaments with scratch teams (does this exist in paintball) and what standard they looking for? I am buying a marker in September which means I can least have a go in the back garden hopefully.

I just would like to get back into it again! Both of my sports/hobbies have seemed to fallen through which is a pain.

Best option if you want to play a tournament is to ask if anyone needs a player, you can even contact the organisers and they'll usually have people looking for a player or two.

Get to a couple of big games where you can play on your own or meet people there and play as a group where the group size isn't limited by a fixed team number ie 5 or 7 players.

I guess there are teams looking for those with a experience and others just needing the numbers? I also guess not having a marker yet is still a drawback for both tournaments and games - anyway around this?

If your looking for somewhere in Glasgow then there is also Major Day just outside bearsden. You will find them on facebook. However it depends on what type of paintball your looking at doing. I would say Major Day is more woodsball / scenario type games.

I took Dusty's advice and contacted the organisers and booked everything last minute. I had a great weekend and definitely do it again.

Cheers Jamie, I'll have a look! I think I'm more interested in tournament but I don't try I won't know!!
