A heck of a lot of them still pay to play...
However, rumor has it that some NXL teams have contracts, which mean they get a few hundred bucks per game won, while some of them get $20K for the season. Don't know what the truth is behind that.

Think I read somewhere, possibly in PGI that NXL players recieve $750 per game. Could be mistaken as it may have been tied up to what they could start to get paid if there is a TV contract in place and running.
when you say per game, do you mean literally game, or per tourny, cos $750 per game, in the milleniums, thats like 10 games+semis+finals

read it again dude, NXL. They play, what 4 games per event? Most they could possibly play would be 7 as there is only 8 teams in their entire league!!!
well actually they play 3 i think, 2 goups of 4. 3 games per team so £1350 per event. Its not bad for playing a game you love, but doesn't really square up to a pro footballer does it?
