OK, I have a really basic question. I have have been playing paintball for over 6 months, but have never been to a big scenario game. My friends are in the same boat and we are going to a big invasion game in about three weeks.

Most of us have Tippman 98 Customs or other semi-autos that are more or less stock, except for an upgraded barrel or two. I don't want to spend a foutune on paint I won't use but I don't want to run out during the game either.

How many rounds to you seasoned players usually go through in one of these games?

Thanks

Philip

At big games i limit myself to 2000, becasue they end up just being a huge paint fest.....but at the big game i slipped through my limit :D :D

I'm not a seasoned player, but I went to the Shatner Scenario game last weekend, and in the 8 hours of the game, went through 2000 rounds using my Spyder Shutter (although I did run out early at the end battle). That was playing a combo of aggressive (attacking a lot) and some conservative (holding areas, advancing slowly) tactics.

Some people I hear went through more than 4 cases (8000+ rounds).

But in general (I usually place rec-ball, and big game), 2000 rounds has usually kept me content.

Howdy,

The best way to answer the question of how much paint you are going to use is to find out more about you, your style of play, and the type of gun you have (as a previous poster pointed out with an electo).

1st: You say you have a 98 or equivilant. These guns don't have the massive firing rate that some guns have. This is an equivilant gun to what I use as well (modified F4).

2nd: Style of play. This one I couldn't determine from your post. If you are one that sits back and waits for the action to come to you, then you will go through less paint. If you are the gun-ho attack type person then you will go through more (gee, sounds logical at least). The idea is if you go looking for a fight, you will find one and use more paint to kill the other players and move on to the next fight.

Ok, in my experience, the first 24 hour game was 1 1/2 cases of paint. I had just enough to finish the game. I am more of a point-man, attacking person. Again, my gun doesn't shoot as fast as some, so I tended to not use as much.

Since that first game I have played several more. My average seems to be around 2 cases. I never go with less than 2 so that I know I won't run out. Nice thing about where I played is that I could purchase a 1/2 case at a time and still only pay about 5.00 more in the long run (didn't discount full cases much). I have never been to a scenerio game that let you bring your own paint, so it may be worth it to check the prices and buy a little at a time if the difference in cost isn't much.

Have fun at the game!

you could do what we did at NvS order 12 boxes (2000) because certain people (nico) had decided that the boxes had 1000 balls in them. Collect them from the shop realise the mistake and then take 2 boxes each   and returned the rest:cool:
