How fast do you shoot!!!

Russell Smith

The Paintball Association
Ok everyone,

I would like you all to help me find the correct number to quote when I am asked " how fast do they shoot".
I know everyone thinks they fire at silly rates but from informed sources I am led to believe that most players can only fire at about 8 - 12 balls per second with non-sustained spikes touching 14 -18.
I need if you would like to help to ( if your marker counts for you) to fire your marker over ten seconds (using a watch or even better being timed) and post you true figure
Please dont cheat on this, just post type of gun used and how many shots you mananged.

Thank You

Russ

i worked it out on how long it took to empty my hopper - i stuck a 140 pot full in and these are the results i got:

Right Test 1 - 140 Shots in 9 seconds = 15.5 bps

Left Test 1 - 140 Shots in 8.6 seconds = 16 bps

Right Test 2 - 140 Shots in 8.8 seconds = 16 bps

Left Test 2 - 140 Shots in 8.1 seconds = 17.5 bps

to be honest i did leave a few balls in the hopper - dont like firing off the final shots, ends up with dulex effect

think that sounds about right

That's the best way to do it, fill your hopper with 140 balls, and fire for 5 seconds. Then count how many balls are left and work it out from that.

This way you'll get a true reading

'in ya face baby!'
last nights training saw a max of 18bps right handed and 14bps left handed, but these are maximum ROF figures not sustained or averages over 10 secs (i know this cos my E2 has a shot counter built in!)

without modes, shot storing, ramping etc, i believe 12-14bps is about the max
