How do you change the strap on i4?

How exactly do i change the strap on the i4? I have the ear peices removed so just a strap, however the tabs (for removing the lense) are attached and there doesnt seem to be a way i'd be able to insert a new strap without cutting off the old one, cutting the new one, wrap it round and sew it back up, which im not really prepared to do...

HELP!!!

have to cut it mate, or do what i did and put two straps on it
