i am trying to take the lowrise of a new impy to fit a twister. the problem i am having is that the littel ***** seems to be welded on! its been loctite'd as i can see a little of it on the top of the thread. what is the best way to "break" this seal without damaging the low rise or its anodizing?
any help appreciated

Also try to put something into the feed tube to help stop distorting the feedneck,a wooden broom handle etc, also try a leather belt around the feedtube for extra grip.:) :) :)

do you want to keep the low rise?

When i had a new feed tube put on my imp someone drilled a hole through the neck and then put a screw driver through and turned it for extra purchase.

Hey presto feed neck off but not really functional afterwards!

when i fitted mine to my impulse i heated the base of the low rise feed with a wind proof lighter for about 10-15 seconds and it just unscrewed and in went the new one.
this was how smartparts advised me to do it when i ordered it but they did say "TAKE CARE AND DON'T OVERHEAT IT"
so good luck.

tried the hair dryer and the grips earlier today no joy at all. i think they have used thread lock(571) rather than loctite even drilled two holes cos i don't need to keep it and bust an allen key an an aluminium rod.
next stage drill two larger holes and try a heavy srew driver after that the larger mallet comes out!!

if you do not want it ,use some water pump/gas pliers,or a set of footprints/dogs available at b&q or a plumbing shop.they will shift it ,but it will be a bit mauled;)
