This is just a recent thing I've been thinking about. It came up when I told my housemate I was thinking of canceling my account... for good.

He then went on to be an idiot and mention things like, 'Oh your only doing to look cool or mard out because of the new layout.'

To which I was like, 'a) To look cool? really people think that looks cool well f**k me! and b) I can use the new lay out you dumb idiot.'

Now I know I have a lot of friends on facebook many old school mates, ballers, uni mates (a lot due to me being an ex shirt seller for carnage), and some family. But I don't rightly care, bar the family part some of them I rarely see so its nice just to be able to see a photo instantly rather than on an email.

How ever I can live without facebook. So I'm thinking I might delete and rebuild?

What do you guys think could you delete your facebook account and think ... oh thats easy or think ... oh my g*d shoot me now.

Oh yeh just to add, is it me or is it like neigh-on-impossible of what some people would be doing if they weren't on facebook?

I could quite easily live without facebook, I would however spend a lot more on mobile phone credit.

One thing I dont like facebook for is all the cameras on nights out now. It's almost like some people only go out ti have pictures to post on facebook.

Having deleted my account last week I can say i feel as though a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Having not long rejoined facebook a couple of months back I was very quickly reminded of why I left. So many petty arguments caused by the 5 minute status updates that people are compelled to post. I am a true believer that facebook is a site devised by Saten himself to make lives a misery. Delete it mate and start living again.

It's very handy. For example, I found out about a lecture that I wanted to attend, because it was on my news feed, otherwise I wouldn't have known. So it's good for things like that.
Also, it's great for stalking ex girlfriends.

I couldn't live without it because i'm addicted ;) i lost my phone for six months last year and i got into the rythm of just organizing everything through facebook. literally i'll get a text to do something this weekend, hop onto facebook send an email around to all the people invited and see who can come, its just simpler like that in my opinion.... but its true that if i quit facebook my work rate would atleast double ;)

Easily. I only accept friend requests if I actually talk to them regularly - I think I have something like 55 friends on there. There's no point adding someone for the sake of it.

The only reason it's worth keeping is so that I can have access to the masses of photo albums/videos that me and my friends have accumilated over the years, and to RSVP to events (which can be done easily enough by text anyway). Big whoop.

Oh, and occassionally talk to people. But I don't. Cause I'm boring.
