I have 2 daft twats as mates
One said he wanted a paintball gun
when i asked why?
he said because he thought it would be fun to go shoot people (as in the public )

so after telling him to f*ck off i went about my day
only to have my other mate say if he played paintball he wouldn't want to wear the mask ( he wouldn't need it)
He reckons cause he was in the army his reflexes would be able to avoid any contact.
so number 1 i have a mate who will end up in prison and number 2 mate will be tempted to take his mask off in a game
both are liabilities to the sport we all love
so how can we prevent people like this ever purchasing a paintball marker , e.g. should everyone have to register their marker?

i think time for new mates

what i meant was

the first guy was open about buying a marker and hunting the public down with a paintball gun ( as seen on cops style)
my worry is that it won't be paintball players that get paintball banned but some guy who walks into his local paintball store and 2 minutes later walks out with a dangerous piece of equipment

i assume their both over 18, if they are then theres nothing anybody can really do to stop them, if a guys gonna buy a gun and go around shooting people theres little the law can do to prevent it. Its just like the gun laws in the US, a seemingly perfectly sane guy can posses a license, go buy a gun and after that your at the mercy of whatever he decides to do with it....
So we can implement licenses or spot checks or whatever, but in the long run nothing can stop people from doing that kinda dumb stuff if they wanna do it.....The only answer the government would come to would be to ban paintguns.....and we dont want that!

Theres that long running debate about whats at fault- the guns or the people. It sure as hell is the people! Paintguns like anyother gun are harmless if used in the right way so banning them would be insane.

My uncle had a mate who bought a marker. He went down the local kiddy play ground and started lighting them up

He got arrested, the gun confiscated, and had to do community service.

He was lucky not to get the armed response unit on hs ar$e and real guns against p8nt markers, I know who would win that fight.

AS to the original post, well Mate 1 will be arrested if he is lucky depends on what for, could be murder. Or shot for having a gun in public.

and mate 2 well **** if he wants to be that stupid he is only going to hurt himself. Or get chucked off site for lifting.

Either way they are both Dumb!!!!

Our sport is still in its young days. it only takes one stupid twat like that to get the gutter press against us and the public turning away from us.

if any of my team or any joe public rec-player i've sold a gun to starts that sort of thing, i'd drop them like a stone.

i get a lot of coppers playing at my site, i've already told them that if they ever get a paintball related incident i would do every thing i could to help them out. even down looking at shell and splats to try and find out what brand of paint it is and where it came from. (had 1 paint grenade incident a couple of years ago which got traced back to one group who played at another site). you can call me a grass if you like, but i call it trying to protect not just my business, but the image of the sport as a whole.

up to now the UK has been very lucky with paintballers. but the recent growth and demand for guns from walk-ons and rec-players sometimes worries me. you can be sure that sooner or later we'll be reading something about a drive by paintballing or some old dears cat getting shot, same as you hear with air guns now.

as for the other guy, he'll learn, lets just hope not the hard way.
