How can i minimize file size of pics of paintball stuff i want to sell in classifieds

Saved pics from digi camera onto my hardrive in order to upload them onto a site for hosting and so i can email them out to people but they are too big for either. They are saved as jpeg but all are over 1MB. Any thoughts on how i can make them smaller? - Please keep it simple cos i don't know much about computers.

just open them in paint, or photo editor (XP)

Use the stretch/skew tool under edit to drop the size of them (i.e 50% height, 50% width) job done.

What's a reasonable size to shrink em down to?

about 320x240 is good for posting
