i would be interested in playing in a tournament, i know you have novice to pro classes but what about markers .. are they put into classes. If not, would this not be a good idea. Otherwise would it not be like racing a formula ford against a formula 1 race car ?
And would this allow people on a budget to get into tourney playing ?

Some top pro players still go out there with Automags, thus proving that it aint all to do with the marker, it's the person pulling the trigger that makes the difference.

More and more people seem to be using Impulse's rather than Angels, which are about twice the price of the impulse, so costs are coming down alot.

However, if you're talking about going out with a pump or something, I'd say forget it, unless you know of any pump tourneys?

However, I'd say just get out here and enjoy it! Get a team together and just play. It's the best and fastest way to learn.

thanks, i guess a marker is only as good as the player using it. But if l wanted to use my inferno field .. i can`t help but feel i would be at an even larger disadvantage, as i am not such a good player.
i still think markers should be put into classes.

there are many things that you can do with the inferno and its not such a bad marker either ive seen many people playing with them at tounaments and have been quite happy as well

also really sometimes the speed of the marker is not the most important thing some time it only takes one hit remember.
i used to use an eclipse bushy and that was about as quick as anything i have ever fired apart from a matrix
now i have a eclipse cocker that i can aslo get a very fast triger with but you get the accuracy as well.

see keep shooting and get the best you can afford its not the marker its the player thats holding it

At the lower level it probably doesn't make that much difference, until recently we were going out with a squad of 7 & only 3 of us had our own markers - the rest were running site Piranhas! You'll also learn to play better to overcome any shortcomings of your kit, so when you do get your Impy/Angel/Matrix/whatever, you'll really rock.

There's also the logistics of organising this kind of thing. What do you do with a team like ours was - 1 Angel, 1 micromag & a cocker plus 4 piranhas? What about now only 3 months later when we have 2-3 angels, 1 micromag, 1 minimag & 2-3 cockers on the field? The players haven't improved enough in that time to go up a division but the markers are better.
Another problem. I know sites that have used Impys as site guns - I've even heard of Angels being used as site guns. So what's the better marker - an Impy that's been hammered into the ground week after week with an out-of-the-box setup, no maintenance & an oversized stock barrel on CO2, or a spider or piranha or similar that's been loved & cherished & had everything possible done to it & cost a damn site more than the impy at the end of the day?

you could always get an inferno, add a smartparts freak system (spyder screw), foward expansion chamber, short bottom line, mako electronic grip frame, 12v viewloader, warp feed, then who cares if you are playing angels,

may mate is getting this system and i costs a lot less than an impy or angel with a freak, 12v agi, and warp feed and it fires the same. far, dead accurate.

equipment makes no difference

Instead of wasting money upgrading you're inferno - save the cash and get a decent second hand gun or as Dunc said - possibly an impulse!

Oh God, let's not get into another one of these arguments. Angel vs. Cocker vs. Impulse vs. Mag vs. "starter markers", it gets old. Who is to say that upgrading his Inferno is a waste? Give the man his options and let him make a decision. But don't try to cloud his judgement by bashing one of the options you don't feel he should choose. These threads have a habit of blowing up when some pissed (insert marker here) owner comes in and starts whining about how his marker is the greatest. Mrstewie, you've gotten some great options- get what you want. :)

how about the next finals of a major tournament to be played with straight out the box field infernos on co2 just to see who can adapt the best. A sort of best skills rather than most paint laid down contest?
