Hi planet, i was wondering if you could help me with an assignment for university. I study multimedia, in which we are tasked with creating a media rich tutorial/informative application, so i thought what better than how my favourite little gat works :)
I've stripped it down more times than i've had birthdays (which compared to a lot of people here on p8nt probably still isn't much :) ) So i know what each part is, what it looks like, and how to put it back together.
But in the long run i'm still not 100% sure 'what', 'why' or 'how' it works.

(By the way, sorry if this is in the wrong area, move/redirect it to where it should be if it is)

So for my assignment i am making a 3d model of an etek 1 in 3ds max, then having a cutaway of it showing the internals and explaining the process from pulling the trigger to the ball coming out of the barrel.

So I'm wondering if you'd be able to tell me exactly what the process is...

Here is what i've got so far - And i apologise for what i get wrong -

1. Screw ASA knob to engage gas
- Gas then enters through the inline regulator, where it becomes decompressed, and into the Rammer housing and solenoid to be directed later on trigger pull.

2. Turn on gat (duh)

3. Put ball in breach (assuming eyes are turned on to detect round)

4. Pull Trigger
- Has to be met by these variables;
- There is a ball in the breach
- There is a battery with the board turned on
- There is gas in the marker.

So here is the process;

5. The trigger completes the circuit, which then tells the solenoid to distribute the gas. The gas is then split into two parts; pushing the rammer forwards, which in turn drives the bolt forwards.
Whilst this is happening, the second package of gas is flowing through the LPR to decompress the gas further, which then goes through the front of the rammer housing, and up through the bolt and to push it back.

6. These processes end at the same time, to result in the bolt pushing the ball, whilst the air flowing through the bolt pushes the ball further and faster.

7. Whilst this is happening, gas is flowing through the ASA>Inline Regulator>Into the solenoid ready for the next trigger pull, filling the ramming house again, pushing the bolt backwards into its default position so the next ball can enter.

Now forgive the nooby questions, in which a lot of that is probably wrong :p Would one of you guys (or another forum member) please be able to correct the errors of my ways :) It would be hugely appreciated :)

Thanks in advance,
Dan
