Hose fittings...

Hey guys and gals... I just put a dye airport on my speed 06 and now need to change the hose going from the original on/off.. only thing is.. they are being a sh i te to come out.. any ideas? (apart from pulling so my fingers bleed!)

ps i know you have to pull the elbow fitting away from you so the clamps are kinda released or whatever... the trouble is the hosepipe aint coming out for love nor money!

Your doing the right thing, you just need to percevere. Using a spanner to pull the collar back helps, as does having two people doing the job (one to release the collar one to pull on the pipe)

Unfortunately standard air fittings are crap and the pipe gets butchered inside the fitting.


Your best bet is to PM Tom Allen on these boards and say 'please can I buy some quality air fittings that dont fall to bits?'.
Toms fittings come out easily every time, they are also alot more durable and therefore safer than standard air fittings.
