Hey,

Got my new ION on order, and was just wondering about what hopper to get. For the moment, i'll be playing walk on days, mainly super air. Any opinions on the Viewloader Tripod?

Also, anyone know if I can get these in the UK?

Thanks.

Really depends what your budget is. Revvy's (similiar to the hopper link you posted) are alright but won't keep up with an Ion at maximum speed. For ~£30 you can pickup a decent Egg (Viewloader Evolution II) on these forums which are popular hoppers for Ions - They can keep up with them and aren't hugely expensive either. The higher end are Halos/VLocity's, but at £60+ you might not want to spend that much.

As for the feedneck, you will definately want a clamping feedneck on your Ion - Popular ones are the Q-Lock clamping feedneck or similiar. Again, can be picked up cheaply (£10-£15) in the Classifieds forum.

Have both on my Ion and they work fine together.

if your playing semi only a revvy would be ok as most people cant hit 15 without lots of practice

but a 2nd hand egg for 25-30 would be the the best bet cheap and does the job

Eggy

I got an Ion and after much delibration and advice sought on here decided to get an egg.

Used it on my first walk-on and didnt let me down once. Good solid bit of kit. Just make sure you put electrcians tape over the battery door before you walk out the safe zone to play.

I heartily recomend the egg, but you will need to get a q-lock on your ion to ensure it stays secure. Probably need the q-lock for most hoppers to stay secure as the Ion neck isnt the best.

I picked my egg up for £30 with Z-board in it from the forums classifieds. U should be able to do the same. It rocks!!!

Hope this helps, and good hunting.

Thanks guys. Just landed myself a weekend job, so I should be able to get the egg and Q-neck soon.

hey,

ive got an ion myself and couldnt get my halo on to the feedneck.

people told me to sand down the neck with sandpaper to make it fit better but i thought what would i do if i got a new gun!!

so i looked on www.smartparts.com and found the q-lock thing and got my stock ion neck replaced with it. its brilliant and you can use any hopper with.

so yeah definatly get it!!

Oh.. and I cut the feedneck on the egg down by 17mm. It now sits nearly flush onto the Ion, making it feel part of the marker, rather than a big smokey baby rattle like thing sticking out for everyone to shoot at....
Haven't really considered that, but a very good idea - Thank I'll do that...Does seem a bit too high over the top of the marker. Does it feel just as secure though?
