Im currently in the process of making a fan system for my mask as Im just to cheap to buy the proper one.

I've picked up two 5 volt PCU fans and a 9 volt battery harness with an on/off switch.

Soldered the fans and harness together in series and wrapped insulation tape around the joins unfortunately when I fitted it to the mask using cable ties I managed to break the join.

Is there anyway to reinforce a soldered joint.

You could try some heat shrink tubing over the joint. Can be picked up at maplins or any electrical store. It is really cheap aswell. Just put I piece over joint and heat up with a lighter or blow gun. It will shrink round wire and seal it aswell.
