What a great day.
Thanks to everyone who took part in what felt like mid winter and well done to Neil, Ross and the marshals for putting on a great day despite the crazy English weather. Playing in 5” of snow in April was not what any of us expected.
The whole day had a great feel of camaraderie, no doubt caused by the snow; not a sign of any cheating and the marshalling was the best so far of the 3 5 mans we have played and I hope that this is a sign of things to come with each woods tournament getting better and better. As far as I am aware no one had any complaints through out the whole day.

Is it possible for someone to post the full results?

It’s a shame that some teams either went home or couldn’t make it due to the weather but I fully understand that. At the start of the day, playing did not seem a very nice prospect. We nearly didn’t play ourselves after it took one of our team 2 & a half hours to do a 45min journey from Guildford, where he had to blag his way past the police trying to close the A3, negotiate 3 accidents on the M25 and spun off 3 times himself! Now that’s what I call dedication to your sport.

We only had two issues over the day and those were; It would be nice to have more fill stations for the next 5 man as with such short turn a rounds I think it was a bit tight for some teams to get ready, luckily for us we brought a couple of dive tanks to top up from so we were not greatly effected by this.
And secondly I just want to deal with the Semi final against Team Venom before any rumours start. It is true that we made a bit of a fuss before the game started about the marshals on the field; I just want to be clear that in no way do we feel that the marshals had any impact on the result, but we did feel that it was perhaps a bit unfortunate that as we were walking to our base that it was believed that some marshals joined in with shouts of ‘Go team Venom’ or something of the like. Our main concern was that there should not be any chance of either players or spectators having the opportunity to claim any bias from the marshals that might affect the out come of the game, which would ultimately decide the winners of the day. It might be prudent in the future for any marshal that has an affiliation to a team to take themselves of the field voluntarily just to avoid any issues. Personally I had no problems with anything during the Semi, though I do owe Noel an apology for pushing him out of the way and swearing at him as I bugged back at one point in the game. Sorry Noel. Oh, and sorry Jason for shooting you twice in the arse at the end ;)
Finally, for me this was the most enjoyable game of the day actually, Venom did well to take us down to 2v3 (Edit: Just found out that it was 2v4), they fought hard but Martin and me won out in the end. Good game guys.

And last but not least. A couple of us from Blow are putting together some woodsball training days where we will try to give people the benefit of some of our 20 odd years of Pro woodsball experience. If you are interested please PM me and I will give you more details as and when I have them.

Thanks again to everyone
