Hi everybody,
my name is shaun im 19 and im from norwich, in the united kingdom. been lookign at this forum for the past few days and just now decided id sign up as it seems a very good forum,
down to my reason for signing up. Firstly ive been into Rc (remote controlle) cars boats planes ect ect for many many years since i was a little kid, but now its just not as exciting as it used to be, so im venturing into a new hobby, ive played a few ( i think its called) "scenerio" games of paintball at my local skirmish, and now im lookign to get into it properly, my main motive is the rush i get wheni play these games, like no other hobby (in the price range) :p.... also it will help with my fitness as currently, im erm well... to put it bluntly fat! :) it also gives me an excuse to shoot my mates :D.... but as im completly new to this, not so new that i dont knwo how to shoot one, but if im being honest, i havent a clue whats value to buy and what not... so any help would be appreciated....! :)
what i would like is if you could point me in the rigth direction, to:
1, a complete set-up ie: marker, paintballs, mask, clothing ect,
and then tell me why you think its the best,

budget wise, i dont really have a set one but realistically, i dont want to be spending more than £300, for a newbie, as i might not get into it ect :)
ive read up about a few things like, the co2 can freeze a gun and ive heard that a standard co2 can will only last around 700 shots, when i last played a game, i done around 700 in a full day, so only having it last 1 day isnt going to be best, is there any other alternatives or anything else i should look for...??

but anyways thats me im gunna stop blabbling on, cus reading walls of txt are boring as i know for myself... :)

many thank
shaun

First thing i will say is if you are going to get into the sport don't put yourself through the trouble of buying a full kitbag worth of stuff to find out you don't want to play. buy the basic parts first like masks, loaders and packs to make sure you'll stick with this.

here's a nice big post with plenty of info for ya LINK

First off welcome Shaun, I have a few months of playing under my belt so i'm no expert this forum has been a massive support to me so your in a good place to start off the sticky one page up http://www.p8ntballer-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?143312-Tips-for-getting-started-in-Paintball is a good place to start.
Price wise well thats opening a big debate several other guys have posed similar questions you will need for lets say a walk on which is like rental play but cheaper as they provide the air and you get paint at a cheaper rate.
Mask - Most importatant £20+ what is best well something that fits well and is comfy I like ProFlex & Profilers £30ish
Marker - Depends on what sort of paintball you would like to play? Say scenario second hand tippman £190
Hopper - Depends on what sort of paintball you would like to play some fit certain markers? comes with it
Tank - Steel or Fiber budget may decide £90
Pod Pack + Pods £50

Clothing wise if say your playing a bit of scenario camo gear can be bought fairly cheaply, the tailor made padded paintball gear starts adding additional cost.
Incidently the prices i'm quoting are second hand the forum is excellent for that and ive seen all the items on here for the quoted prices.

While i've been typing liam92 beat me to the next thing I was going to say before I bought any of my kit I went and chatted to some of the players at my local site, I massivley exceeded my budget paintball can be expensive but hell its worth it for the rush.
