wondering if anyone can fill me in on the age and progression of some marker makes and models know a bit about angels as have looked at a a1 and under stand there was the lcd and ir3 before i think? but didn't know if there any good or got replaced with a newer model for a reason. also where does the ego sl66 fit in on there development as i know there onto the ego 09 now and the geo and proto with the pmr but are there older models any good?
Angel LED released around '96. This was the first marker ever made that resembles what we shoot today.
Its good to bear in mind at this point in time, the likes of planet, dye etc were still selling shiny chrome bits for cockers and mags.
Angel LCD which dominated the scene for a good few years.
Used by dynasty when they had their most successful run.
Next came the Ir3 in about 2002. That had the 90 degrees space frame. Which proved WDP werent really in tune with what tournament players wanted.
Then the Angel speed in 03/04 which dropped the display screen for some LEDs to save cost.
Later the A4 was introduced. Sold as the high end model to the speed.
Then the A4 fly, which was the first production angel to have eyes.
Then the Speed 05, which had eyes and used a disposable battery, also on the 05 they offered the option of a normal 45 grip again.
This is the year planet released the first ego.
Then the Speed 06, G7, G7 fly. Heres where they changed the barrel thread and pissed off a load of customers.
Then the A1 was released when they moved production to China.
My least favorite angel.
