Just joined the forum hopeing to get some help & advice, My son realy want's to take up paintballing hopeing to buy a decent used one for him Got about £150 to spend & looking to use air as i have diveing bottle's for my air rifle's.
Any help or advice please.

in the £150 what are you looking to buy?
marker, air bottle and loader?
at first i would recommend a steel 48cu 3000psi and this will cost £40 new
for loader i would recommend the proto primo i think it is, a very good gravity fed loader as it has a shelf which helps alot and feeds 8-9 bps thats £10 ish new
thats the tank and hopper for £50 from justpaintball
and then you can get a decent second hand marker off of here for £100.

depending on what gametype he wants to play you should get different types of marker:
woodsball only - mainly woodsball markers (tippmans, bt etc) or maybe a speedball marker (if he likes shooting fast and having a light gun)
woodsball and speedsball - speedball marker

Thank's fo the reply, give's me an idea now what to look for as far as game play ive no idea we do have a paintball site not to far away from us in marton cheshire it's just a wooded area.

well
it also depends on is he prefers the weight and customabilty of the tipmanns.
as they are alot heavier than speedsball markers and can be made to look like pracitcally every gun.
or if he likes the light marker, and prefers the looks and speed of the speedsball marker.
you should go down with him to a walkon one day.
or if youre near a shop go there, and get him to hold and feel all the bits an pieces to see what he prefers.


i also forgot you need to buy a mask completely forgot about that in the budget

At the moment i cant drive haveing torn my tendon so just been browseing the net cant find a shop nearby, Seen a few bit's of kit on several for sale site's but not knowing much about them im not rushing it.

ronnie do your son a favor and book him in at unreal pantball at madeley, just north of stoke, they've got a walk-on end of every month (the last sunday) he won't be dissapointed.

Thank's all for the help, Will have a look for that site as i said i cant drive just yet so he will have to wait a bit, Funny thing is now with all this reading im getting into it be a long time before i can run around on both leg's.

The setup i would recommend would be what bolsie said, however whatever you get after buying the tank and gun should IMO go towards a nice hopper... the primo is nice, but a real forcefed loader is much better...

Just a thought what age do youngster's have to be to start this hobby, He's 14 & just said he would like a marker that look's like an army rifle......Think he's going out of my price range now beginning to think why did i offer to treat him ?????
