I'm now about to buy my first paintball gun. I've been wondering what gun i should buy and i saw that these two are recomended; Tippman Model 98 Custom and Inferno Terminator T3.

The Tippman is hi-pressure blow back gun but the T3 is low pressure gun.

Witch of them should i buy and what is the deal with the air pressure systems?

Why are there two air pressure systems?

Does the Tippman have more distance than the T3?

What do u guys recommend?

Thanks,
Toturus

Howdy,

If it came to a choice between those two guns I would go for the Model 98. I would say that if you get a Model 98, I would also get the Flatline barrel, no questions asked.

You were wondering which shot farther? Well, with the Flatline there aren't many guns that shoot farther than the 98. You may get one in the $1200.00+ price range. I have played with the flatline, and been hit with one, they go pretty far.

Since I have no experience with the T3 I can't comment on the playability or reliablity of that gun. I have played with the 98 and will say that it was very reliable and enjoyable to use.

I decided to purchase an F4 Illustrator when getting back into paintball (been playing for 15+ years, but got out with my first child). Although I haven't had any problems with my F4, I do think the 98 with the flatline would have complimented my play style better.

Hope that helped a bit.

Even in the 1200+ range, you still wont get a marker to shoot as far, the flatline puts backspin on the ball, and the only other gun to do this is the flatline cocker.

Yer i know in airsoft the use a type of barrel that puts back spin on the BB to counteract the force the gravity and make it fly much straighter (my brother was telling me! He plays airsoft. ) So why dont they do that with more barrels?

Andy: have you seen the flatline? Its a bent barrel....and looks as though you will have to put your pressure higher to get the same FPS it also means that if the barrel is on a sloght angle, it will spoon off in the wrong direction(no good for snapshooting)

Firstly both guns are high preassure blow back markers,
whats your budget?? there are better markers out there for the same price. Depending on your budget you may even be better of saving a little more and getting something better.
