I have recently turned 22 and used to play when I was 15/16 at d7s just for fun and jumping in with a few teams practices.

This is the first time I have been on this forum so I will be exploring all of the new content and mainly in the for sale section but I am wondering what are the avergage prices of everything now. How much is entrance fee, average paint a practice, gun (do people still say gat?) and hopper etc..

Sorry for the completely random post but weighing up my options with sports now and looking at the prices of paintball once again. (I had to make a different account due to a new email and not remembering my old log in at all)

hey welcome back bud! things haven't changed too much to be honest, Entry for domestic events is round about £200ish, will be higher or lower depending on divisions. cheap paint is going around £25, but an extra tenner gets you some pretty decent paint too. equipment wise if you're looking for value for money the cheapest, best performing, markers are probably around £300 and £50-70 would get you a pretty sweet hopper in the meantime too.

once you've got your kit sorted, a days tournament is going to cost you around £75ish at a rough estimate (entry + paint) per person.

yeah that helps a lot thank you, it seems pretty standard to what it used to be. Who are the top teams nowadays too? Are they pretty much the same now? Red Legion, XSV, Dynasty, Ironman. But also who are the teams coming through the ranks? And also who are the powerhouse companies around now?

I will have to check funds and see if I can get back into this amazing sport, living in Kent doesn't help for travel now d7s has gone really but I will have to look at it properly

its anybody's game at the minute in the pro ranks tbh. the biggest team right now is probably Houston Heat from texas who were a brand new team made up of some star players from other pro teams, they took the psp pro title on their first season. Tampa Bay Damage are probably the other biggest name right now with dynasty going through a bit of a rebuild at the moment and the same with the ironmen but it looks like they are going to be a strong contender for 2013.

company wise Kee is slowly taking over the world haha. but other than that planet eclipse seem to be doing very well with dye loosing a little bit of support support after plateauing with the DM series. machine have broken out pretty well with their vapor marker which GI sports are now distributing.
oh and there's another name worth mentioning, GI are pretty much dominating the paint market to the outside eye.

Thanks for all of the information a lot of the sport seems to be the same but there are some differences like the brands who I haven't heard of before. And not a mention of Dynasty or Ironmen as the power teams seems pretty odd.

What is the popular gat most people are using now, I see a lot of hype over EGO still. I had a PM8 which shot pretty well, but tried a DM9 and loved it.

Check out the empire axe, cheaper than most markers but competes with the best of them.
Do like planet eclipse markers and have never had a problem with them but the axe seems to be out performing them all at the moment. But that's just my opinion.:)
