first word of advice, if you're thinking of upgrading to higher end markers in the future, dont bother wasting your money on a starter marker like that, plenty of good markers up for sale in the classifieds section, particularly look out for ANGELS, they are the easiest maintainable markers out there, and perfect for a new guy like yourself, and nearly anybody knows about angels so its easy for someone to help you! Repairs if damaged (unlikely) are also quite cheap!

Welcome mate, Luke.

i've had both markers! :D the LCD is a lot easiar to get to terms with, whereas the matrix is a lot faster, more accurate, but its quite heavy for a marker!

Hope this helps, Luke.

if you need an opinion that isnt lukes ( :p ) just look at the threads in here over the last few pages with titles like "what marker should i get" or "is [insert cheap spyder clone] here a good starter marker?" - loads of info on there, usually the jist of it is - dont bother with spyders, get a second hand Angel or Impulse, infact a friend of mine has an Angel LED for sale for about the same price you'd get a spyder for new (bout 140ish) if your interested give scars a pm
