Hi guys, im new to the forum and after some advice

Years ago i got into paintball though my partners brother. We did about 5 walk on events with some of his friends and some guys he worked with. I enjoyed it so bought myself a setup with the idea of playing reguarly. However since then Its all sat in the box in the wardrobe unused. I cant remember if i played with it once or if i literally just did some test shots in the garden when it first arrived. This was probably around 8 years ago

I cant see the point in keeping it any more and would rather sell it for someone else to enjoy. The problem is I have no idea what it is worth.

Kit I believe is as follows:
Eclipse Ego 09 in Red
Empire Prophecy hopper / loader
Empire E-Vents Mask
PMI 4.5k 1.1l Air System
H18 Pro Pack
5 x 140 Shot Pots
H18 Tank Cover

Obviously the tank is out of test, and im not sure if its now too old to be retested and used?

All the kit is in 'as brand new' condition, I cannot remember now if I used it in anger once, or if it has never been used. I've just opened up the box and the marker has that brand new smell to it, so id guess at never used.

So, is the air tank junk?
What sort of price could i expect on just the marker, or the whole package

Thanks in advance for any replies

James

The tank should have a 'death date' on it or 15 years from the first date. Pictures especially of the ego would help :)

@James500, you'd be lucky to see £200 for the lot, especially if the tank is out of test.

January is a bad time to be selling markers - nobody has any cash, as they have spent it all on Christmas & New Year.

As @dfr350 says, a photo might help.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not in a rush to sell so waiting a few months to get a better price is not an issue.

Here are a few pictures, looks to me like the tank runs out in 2024

Thanks for that!

Cleanest '09 I've seen in a while, but the tank hydro expired in 2014 - so you cannot use it until you get it tested, which will cost around £30.

For what it's worth, my valuation of the Ego 9 is £130 on a good day. You may get lucky and find a collector who is looking for a BNIB '09, so they may be willing to pay more than that.

The untested tank is maybe worth £25, as the buyer will have to pay for a test - but some forums don't allow the sale of out of test tanks.

The Prophecy, pack & Vents are another problem, as they may have been top of the line gear 10 years ago, but technology has moved on since then. You may get £50 for all of those together.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but paintballers are tightwads. They want the newest gear as cheap as possible, and when you put up a sale post they will always message you saying "What's your BEST price?" like they've known you for 10 years and you owe them a favour.

Good luck!

Thanks for your honesty, its exactly what i was after. Should have sold it years ago when it was still worth something really.

You're welcome, @James500 .

On a personal note, I've had a couple of guns up for sale around the £100 - £130 mark for a while, and nobody is interested.

So if you are offered something close to my valuations, take the money. Better that you have cash in your pocket than a gun you don't use.

Have had a change of heart and decided to keep my gear and actually go and do some walk-ons. Having let it sit there and loose all its value i figure i might as well get some use out of it

Where is best to get my tank tested
