Hey guys, I've just recently taken up paintballing after being given a VL orion marker. Started playing a bit more now so just bought 2nd hand JT E-grip marker which is ok for £60 i paid for it but the connstant usage (4-5 times a week) is starting to show more and more weaknesses in it for what i want it for. I got about £150 and looking for upgrade. Can anyone recommend any markers? Got rest of equipment so just need marker.
Oh and also can anyone recommend a mask that will fir me when im wearing my glasses, mine at min is not the most comfortable thing in world!!!
Cheers guys,

Ahh, but what are you using currently, air or CO2?

Many of the 'tournament' markers (i.e. designed for sup'air) will work poorly, not function at all, or suffer damage from having CO2 ran through them. Also, while they'll be fine with having constant streams of paint ran through them at 15bps or higher+, but they wont take too kindly to having a mud bath, or battling with the elements.

But for example the Tippmann line of markers will run fine on CO2 (they still benefit from air, but it's not major and it's not a nessesity) and they'll handle most of what nature (and you!) can throw at them with ease, only needing a quick rinse to be in action again.

The problem is you'll find it hard, or rather more expensive to find a marker that sits between the two. If you turn up to a tournament with a A5 you'll be outgunned, and if you want to bash around the woods and at the end of the day chuck your marker in a bag and be done an ION would simply die.

i think the best thing with the Ion is that its supposedly an entry level, but after youve played with it lots, and know the marker inside out, you can upgrade it a little and you have a tourney level marker for half the price of an entry level one new!!! i have seen ions at walk ons and they have kept up with stock and upped egos with a little bit of tlc and some moolah in the end!!! all in all, smart parts added a great marker to their already great range!

i dont know too much about the DM3... if a second hand marker has been looked after (which most on this forum have been) then your assured itll work good and shoot nice!!!! DM3s have a reputation of shooting straight and good reliability!

hope this helps

Hi graeme_monkey since you only have £150 i advice you buying a ion as they are good Reliable guns also when you get a bit more money you can upgrade your board to a blackheart what can do 25 balls second :D :D

I would recommend the Dm3 if you can get your hands on it, its generally speaking a better gun than an ion...

Otherwise, you can get 2nd hand E1 Autocockers for sinfully cheap prices these days. I would personally go with one of those if you can get a good deal on one.

Hi

hello m8

ive got a Limited Edition Black Jack Nexus e-balde E1 with all nexus parts, Comes with a Samari Trigger which rocks on any e-balde, with on/off drop forward
The Ion is a good marker as i have 1, but prefer to use the e-blade as its more accurate and will fire anything u pur through it, the Ion can be fussy with paint and will smeg yr barrell frequently However, speaking from experience they can be a little troublesome with minor air leaks and the feed neck is a bit iffy
Most people have the Ion orriginally for playing the PA as they have a ramping set onto the board, u can change it depending on what torni yr playing in.

Im looking to sell my e-balde for £350 if yr interested

i have some pics i can e-mail u if yr interested, just mail me back

take care
