I just got a spyder shutter off ebay. I was testing it with a 12oz bottle here at home today. I don't know how full the bottle is. The gun won't recock. The pressure gauge says between 650 and 700 PSI, the needle is NOT in the green. Would my problem be caused by a close to empty bottle or something with the marker. Please help as I am supposed to play tomorrow. Thanks.

nothing to help on the kingman forum. I tried to play to day, no luck. Definently not the bottle. One of the field gun experts tryed to fix it, to no avail. He did say that it seemed awfully hard to pull back the bolt to cock it. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks again.

Does it recock at all??

If the bolt goes back but does'nt actually cock the the main spring may be to hard, the sear may be worn.

Does it work ok appart from the fact it wont re-cock??

Did you do a search on the kingman forum?? The forum is specifically for spyders and there is a forum on there for all shutter problems so you should have no trouble finding an answer there.

Doesn't recock at all. I talked to some guys on www.PBnation.com and they said that it is probably the striker o-ring ( the red one) as it has a little gouge in it and it is very soft. The spring does seem hard also. The so called "expert" at my field said that it shouldn't be that hard to pull the bolt back. I will check the kingman forum again. I didn't see anything last night.

gun is fixed. It was the striker o-ring. who would have thought that a little piece of rubber with a gouge the size of a pinhead would make the difference between a excellent marker and a blue paper weight. Thanks to everybody for their help.
