Free gun, you are a lucky boy!

If it is a Tipmann then it'll most likely be a 98 or an A5 both of which are great starter guns if you play the sort of paintball in the woods. Rather than thinking about spending loads of money on upgrades, use that money to play with to start off and see if you like the gun and the sport. If you wanted to move away from the woods based game to the tournament based game the gun would be of little use and all the money you spent on the gun would be lost as the 2nd hand market for that type of gun is very low.

Still, if you are desperate to upgrade, i've heard the flatline barrels are useful bits of kit.

If you want more accessories there are quite a few at the Fat Bob's Store, links below.

When you buy upgrades, each purchase should be to address a specific deficit in your equipment. Otherwise you will be blowing all kinds of money on stupid stuff you don't need.

Tippmann guns are tough. Get out there and play hard, 'cause you aren't gonna hurt that gun.

If I were you, I would spend your gear budget on the following, in order:
1. the best mask you can afford
2. a 4500 psi HPA tank
3. the fastest hopper you can afford.

Obviously, if something is on your head, you want it to be something you are happy with. The tank will help somewhat with consistent velocity and the ability to play in different weather conditions. A fast hopper will mean that any problems you have are not due to a failure to get balls into the breech.

The best thing, though, is to spend money on playing. The more you play, the better you will get, and the more you get to enjoy it. Getting hung up on upgrades will probably cost you more money than it is worth in the long run, for a lot of reasons.

Also, if the tippman already has an "Upgrade package" it might be worth finding out what it already has on it..

if your new to the "own gun maintenence" routine, then you can probably find pictures of all the upgrades on sites like fat bobs and compare them with yours to see what yours has..

when ive heard new people to the sport say theyve bought a tippman with an "upgrade kit" i often find there reffering to the response trigger kit..

Tippmans are great starter guns..
Pretty decent performance (with a few ups.) but not bad as standard.
and you can run over it with a truck!! and youl only make it mad!!!
