HELP - taking reg off a dxs bottle and bringing onto plane

is it quite easy to take the dxs reg off a dxs bottle. i know that you need to empty it before removing the reg but is there a technique in getting it smoothly off? im going abroad in a few months and i just want to make sure i can bring it with me on plane. also is there i need to do when bringing it in my checked in luggage?

It is more than likely lock tighted on there, so wont be easy to get off. Best (and safest) thing to do is take the rupture discs off and that's it. That is all I have ever done over the years and never had a problem.

They removed about 8 regs for us before the Malaga event without a problem.

removed the reg on my PMi tank yesterday, all i did was plenty of hot water onto the base of the reg, put it onto a non slip surface, put my knee on the tank, and torqued the reg off.

Its pretty simple, but does require a fair amount of brute force.

i believe most bottles should be tourqued to around 45-50 ft-lbs*


* note, i am not an expert, consult your manufacturers (or tom allen) rather than some key board tech
