hi there im curently shooting with an egg "y" on my ego 05and i think its about time i got a new hopper.
i dont know amuch about whats available but im looking at a halo/reloader but need a few questions answered if someone can spare me the time.

1. whats the diference between the halo and reloader?
2. what difference does the B make?
3. what is a rip drive and how does it work?
4. why is there an external wheel?
5. are the upgraded boards similar to the upgrade from a 'y' to a 'z' in an egg or are they cleverer than that?
6. what boards are available, which is regarded as the best, why?
7. how does a speed feed work?

1. the halo has eyes (when you shoot, the ball drops, and the eye see it and feed more?), and the reloader works on sound(when it hear's the maker firing, it feeds)
2.the b has nothing to do with it i think.
3/4the Rip option lets you feed balls if you run out of battery mid game, the rip part is the wheel on the bottom of the hopper which is attached to the drive cone inside.
5. there are upgrade boards but there not really needed, both the halo and reloader with keep up with semi/ramp (upto 22bps i think) markers all the way.
6.dont worry yourself about new boards, just run the stock one's as most poeple do.
7.it replaces the lid with a part that lets you feed into the hopper with out lifting a lid, and make's the hole putting paint into the hopper far quicker, but isnt the smartest thing in the winter and it leaves the hopper open to rain.

think thats it covered, btw, if i where you, i'd get a reloader, they are so hassle free when you get them going, no eye to keep clean, and sitting on a 05 ego, you'll have no problems.

1- Halo uses eyes and Reloader is sound activate. Reloader also has 3 speed settings.

2. There used to be the Halo A, the B is the second (updated) model

3. a rip drive allows you to manualy load balls into the feedtube. Great if you run out of battery at in game or for loading balls at the chrono to save battery. it basicaly allows you to manualy rotate the drive cone.

4. Its the rip drive, see above.

5. For the halo there is the V35 vicory board upgrade and the Cheeta board. The Reloader B can be upgraded to the Reloader B2. Both will feed over 15 balls a second consistantly though whle stock.

6. See above, i'd stick with stock never let me down in over a year.

7. A speed feed replaces the lid and means you can just poor the paintballs into the hopper without having to open anything. Drawbacks are looks and rain.

I use a reloader B & hybrid shells but with stock internals and its fantastic.

1. a halo works through optical sensors - it feeds when the feedneck is clear of paintballs, so there are no jams. the reloader feeds on sound activation - it hears your marker fire, and feeds.
2. The b is the another edition of a halo hopper - as there are loaders such as the halo front man, halo back man, and halo tsa LED. I think the reloader is the same as there is reloader 2 and reloader b but i'm not too sure...
3. ripdrive is a little wheel under the loader, so when you run out of battery you can still spin the cone inside the loader to feed paint, so you don't get into a sticky situation with no paint, but getting shot at!
4. external wheel = ripdrive
5. upgrade boards - there are loads available, i had a team oddysey board for my halo - ask karlito - it's fast! and there is stuff like the v35 board which claims to feed @ 35bps.
6. see above. the v35 board is the one everyone buys as it's cheap and fast, however you can buy a cheetah board which is fairly pricey, and does basically the same thing.
7. speed feed = a mesh that you put on instead of a plastic lid, which you can feed balls through, however if you shake your hopper etc the balls can't get out - hence it's more speedy to load from a pod than to undo a lid and feed the pod in.

hope this helped!

EDIT - GODDAMNIT BOB!!!!

thank very much all,
last question then,
halo or reloader?
i can see the drawback to a halo, - more to go wrong,
but wouldnt the reloader feed when you run and the balls bounce or when someone fires right next to you?

go for a reloader, the hopper wont feed unless it hears the marker firing, and your marker wont fire if it doesnt have a paintball in the chamber (thats if you have eyes in your marker of course).

there isnt really much of an issue with other marker setting off your hopper, just turn it on with nobody around, because it resets the level it needs to spin each time it is turned on.

so, go for a reloader, and never look back

is the reloader still more expensive than the halo?
when the reloader first came out it was really popuar, but now its kind of died down and people are choosing halos, infact i know people with reloaders who have bought boards and conversion kits to change it to a halo.
so i would say to go with a halo.

... get a vlocity - i've used halo b, reloader b and vlocity, get a vlocity! lol

... everyone has their own opinions - don't buy any loader until you've tried a few out and decide what you like the best - if it's a halo, then get a halo, if it's an eggy, get an eggy, it's all your choice to be honest. most people will say reloader b - basically the more expensive loader, just get what you think feels right.
