Help! PMR eye covers

So I took off one my eye covers on my PMR, because I could see some paint underneath it. All is well until I have to replace the cover. I have put the bolt in where it needs to be, but no matter how much I twist with an allen key the cover will not tighten. I had a look at the other one aswell, and now its doing the same thing.

The threads are all in good condition, I have only taken them off once before.

Any help on how I am meant to get these back in would be great!

you havent lost the little screws have you?

and you sure it is lined up ?

Im have the screws and I think its lined up right. They screw in, just never tighten.

Just put some electical tape across them for the time being because I really need the marker for tomorrow. Any answers still would be great because Im really stuck on this

try pressing the eye covers in as hard as you can and then try screwing them i had the same problem

Doest really seem to do anything. Im worried that I will thread the holes if press to hard.

you got a bit of PTF tape ?

Yeah, taped it up for the moment, but I dont like it.

put a small bit on the thread of the screws, will hold them

I dont think its the screws, because i've tried using the spares aswell to no luck.
