Hi, so I was playing woodsball last Sunday and at the end of the day, I was so tired and wasn't thinking. So I went to wash the lens of my mask (it's a proto switch FS) and instead of using a microfiber cloth, I used a towel for some reason. Now my lens has scratches on it and most lightly water has gone in the scratches as I washed the lens with a bit of water. You cant see most of the scratches, unless you look really hard and there are a few more visible ones. When I have the mask on you can't see the scratches unless you look really hard. My other worry is I'm not sure if one of the scratches is actually a crack? Should I buy a new lens? Help please! Thanks.

This is the one area of your paintball equipment you CANNOT take chances with and so if you think there may be even the slightest chance of a crack in your lens then you MUST replace it otherwise sod's law will try to replace one of your eyeballs with a paintball .... they tend to not work so well as the original .....

Change them !

PS You did the right thing coming on here and asking the question, well done, you possibly saved yourself an eyeball.

If your lens has very minor scratches, its nothing to worry about.
If it does have a crack, even the smallest, then i would advise you change the lens.

Never be cheap with yourself when it comes to saftey. I change lenses at least twice a year, but that depends how much playing time you do.

Double glazed windows are pretty tough, throw a brick at it and the brick will bounce off. I was playing with my marker and took a shot at a window of an old building in my backyard. The window was double glazed. The paintball went straight through the window.
Paintball lenses are made to with stand a paintball to a certain velocity, small cracks or even large scratches will weaken the structure of them.
