Help on Lubricating an ASA?

(well actually my armageddon where the bottle screws in, but same difference)

What lubricants can be used on an ASA? I know there's the Angel Love Juice Air grease, but can any "off the shelf" products be used, such as silicone grease?

I Really need to lube the geddon as the bottle is hellish stiff, but would prefer to do it "sans explosion" :p

Lubricant's on the ASA? Never heard of anybody doing that before. I would guess that the love juice, as you mentioned, or any paintball marker oil would do (ACI, maybe Gold Cup, etc.,)

I presume you mean on the bottle threads?

I have used Dow grease before, and I still have both arms left.

The whole air system-oil-fire thing is usually to do with fill nipples where the filling of it vapourises the oil and it ignites. But on bottle threads I'm sure grease would be OK.

Obviously, if you die I never wrote this.

put a smidge of grease on the o ring at the end but do not grease the threads.......

as time goes on the grease wil attract dirt and crap and you'll find it forms a grinding paste that will erode the threads of your asa/ screw in reg.....

i noticed it happening to mine and have since removed all the grease but left a smidge on the o-ring, but some damage has been done. :(

Cheers spikee, but this thing is stiffer than a choirboy in a lapdancing club..i'm losing a few hundred PSI just screwing the bottle in and developing wrist muscles that said choirboy might find useful!

So it's going to need some assistance...I'll bear that in mind though and check for crap in the thread....
